An Intro to Futures Thinking
We face a world of increasingly unpredictable, large-scale events like global outbreaks of diseases and political strife. Robust strategic planning and innovating have become more crucial than ever.
But we are often at a loss about how to envision and prepare for our futures. With existing methods such as design thinking, how far ahead are we really looking? Are there larger opportunities and longer-term risks that might be overlooked?
In this 2-day in-person hands-on workshop, Studio Dojo introduces how the field of Futures Thinking enables individuals and organisations to thrive in an increasingly complex world.
Embark on a guided journey to explore your own perceptions of the future, expand your possibilities, and learn how such reflections could be useful alongside design processes.
Khai Seng first started out in the design field in 2004. Throughout his career, he has not only helped to design large-scale digital systems, but also facilitated numerous training programmes for C-suite executives and working professionals to drive cultural change within organisations around design and innovation.
Prior to starting Studio Dojo, Khai Seng was formerly the Head of Singapore for Foolproof, a UK-based experience design agency. Education is also close to his heart, having developed curriculum and taught anthropological studies, interaction design, experience design and design thinking in Republic Polytechnic and Singapore Institute of Technology.
In 2023, Khai Seng was the only Asian selected as an Emerging Fellow by the Association of Professional Futurists, meeting and learning from key Futures and Foresight thought leaders. He has also led and worked on futures in the area of education, HR and also conducted training for various organisations.
